The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) recently conducted a clearance operation in Agege, impounding 55 commercial vehicles for illegal parking and obstruction.
Led by CSP Adetayo Akerele, the operation targeted Danfo buses, Korope minibuses, and Keke Marwa tricycles that had turned the Agege roundabout into an unauthorized motor park. Following weeks of surveillance, the effort extended to the Ogba, Iju, and Ishaga corridors, which suffer from severe traffic congestion.
CSP Akerele noted that much of the traffic in Lagos is self-inflicted and emphasized that the operation signals zero tolerance for indiscipline on the roads. He stated that this initiative aims to reduce travel times and enhance public safety, pledging that similar actions will continue across Lagos to dismantle illegal motor parks and restore order.
