Lagos urges doctors to shelve three-day warning strike

The Lagos State Government has urged medical doctors to postpone their three-day warning strike scheduled to begin today, stating that negotiations with the Medical Guild are ongoing.

Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, the Director of Public Affairs in the Lagos State Ministry of Health, reassured that all grievances are being addressed with urgency. The Medical Guild, representing doctors employed by the Lagos State Government, announced the strike on July 26 during a press conference.

 

The government expressed concern for the welfare and productivity of healthcare workers and has formed a conciliation committee with representatives from both the Guild and the government to resolve outstanding issues.
