Peller highlighted that his decision was influenced by severe physical punishments he faced during his childhood at a Quranic school. This traumatic experience had a profound emotional impact on him, ultimately prompting him to leave behind his Islamic education. “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school, and that’s why I stopped going,” he explained matter-of-factly.
