Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, the chairman of Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, recently visited the Mother and Girl-Child Protection Initiative (MAGI) in Ibadan, a vocational skills acquisition center focused on empowering the youth, especially the Girl-Child, to achieve gender equality and personal growth.
MAGI offers training in various skills such as digital skills, fashion designing, catering, hairdressing, makeup, and more. Adebowale commended the CEO, Alhaja Adijat Malik, for her dedication to promoting gender equality in Oyo State. He also praised the structural design of the training center and encouraged MAGI to register as an NGO under the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.
The chairman highlighted the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde in empowering the Girl-Child through education, health, and vocational skills training. He emphasized the importance of equipping the youth with the necessary skills to succeed in the modern world.
Alhaja Adijat Malik, the CEO of MAGI, expressed gratitude to the Oyo State government for recognizing their work and supporting the empowerment of the Girl-Child. She emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing challenges faced by young girls and promoting gender equality in the state.
Moving forward, Adebowale pledged to partner with MAGI to provide vocational training for the youth, with the goal of helping them start their businesses and access resources for growth. The organization’s focus on digital skills and vocational training has already made a positive impact on many beneficiaries in Oyo State.
