Oyo College of Nursing to Award Degrees Soon – Provost

Provost Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi announced this during a donation ceremony for a 110-inch interactive electronic board and projector by alumni from Set X (1979-1982). The college is working on an affiliation with Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) to enable students to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

The alumni’s donation was part of their reunion celebration, along with the 1985 set’s contribution of an industrial borehole. The borehole was commissioned by former Director of Nursing Services Mrs. Arinola, while the new equipment was inaugurated by former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Obasa.

Owolabi commended the alumni’s contributions, noting their significant impact on educational development in the state. She reiterated the college’s commitment to maintaining quality education and fulfilling its role as Nigeria’s premier nursing institution. The college has received approval to start degree programs, with more to come after obtaining full accreditation.

Dr. Yemisi Bhadmus-Ladi, Chairman of the 1979-1982 set, expressed appreciation for the school’s role in their success and thanked fellow alumni for their dedication to these initiatives.
