Big Brother Naija reality star Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has expressed her support for prioritizing DNA tests over traditional naming ceremonies, suggesting that DNA tests should become mandatory immediately after childbirth.
Her stance comes amid an ongoing debate in Nigeria regarding the need for DNA tests due to incidents of paternity fraud.
Phyna shared her thoughts on the topic through her X handle, endorsing a recent statement by music executive Don Jazzy, who proposed that DNA tests should take precedence over naming ceremonies. She stated, “I support DNA tests over naming ceremonies. It should be made compulsory. A DNA test should be conducted immediately after birth.”
