Babalola: “Highly revered father of faith – COZA’s Fatoyinbo issues apology following backlash.

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly has apologized to the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) after making controversial remarks about the late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the church’s first General Evangelist.

In a viral video, Fatoyinbo praised Babalola as “anointed” but suggested that his lack of financial resources limited his impact. The CAC responded sharply, accusing Fatoyinbo of incorrectly linking ministerial success with material wealth.

In his apology, Fatoyinbo clarified that he did not intend to speak ill of Babalola’s children and emphasized that his church is “a place of honor.” He acknowledged the grace associated with Babalola’s ministry and expressed a desire for his legacy to thrive.

“I apologize if any comments I made caused distress to the CAC or to the family of the late Apostle,” he stated.

In his sermon, Fatoyinbo also referenced an incident involving Babalola and a python. The CAC’s statement noted that equating anointing with wealth is biblically flawed, citing Luke 12:15, which warns against covetousness.
