Nigerian singer Akande Abolore Adegbola Alexander, known as 9ice, has made headlines by revealing his spiritual beliefs in an interview with Nancy Isime on The Nancy Isime Show.
He stated that the devil controls music and declared himself not a Christian or Muslim, but an herbalist. “The devil is the choirmaster. I’m African, and that’s what I practice; I’ve found my light in my way,” he said.
9ice also referenced Fela Kuti, noting the criticism Kuti faced for his unconventional behavior.
He emphasized that God communicates in a way that resonates with African culture, saying, “God will never come to you in a different language. This black continent is for black people, and we have our messages.”
