Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade recently shared her inspiring journey from humble beginnings to football stardom, revealing that before achieving fame, she sold olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks during church events.
The 25-year-old Atlético Madrid forward spoke at the August edition of the ‘Power Must Change Hands’ service, hosted by the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) in Ogun State.
Ajibade, who hails from Lagos, reminisced about her experiences hawking within church premises, especially during deliverance services. She noted that those early struggles helped her develop the resilience and faith that guide her through life and her football career.
“Whenever things get difficult—whether at my club or with the national team—I pray. I work hard, but I never stop seeking God’s help,” she told the congregation.
She added, “I was once that young girl walking around church programs selling olive oil, kunu, and zobo. Today, I give all the glory to God. My message is simple: Don’t give up. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep working hard, and keep believing.”
Ajibade recently led the Super Falcons to their tenth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
