Ido Local Government Launches Flood Prevention Initiative

Ido Local Government has recently launched an important initiative aimed at educating its residents about flood prevention and mitigation. This two-day sensitization program kicked off in Ward 10, Ido Market, and has now successfully concluded.

The event was spearheaded by Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, Chairman of Ido Local Government, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yahaya. Several other key figures were present, including Hon. Nurain Wahab, the Supervisor for Environment, Special Assistant Hon. Anjorin, and Hon. Ogunyinka Kehinde, Special Assistant on Youth and Sports. Notable attendees also included Dr. Mrs. Riskat Ayodele Busari, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Adeyemo Najeem, Babaloja, and Mrs. Babadare Kehinde, the Director of Environmental Health Services, along with her dedicated team.

This program seeks to enlighten residents about the causes and effects of flooding and the crucial role they can play in preventing it. Over the next two days, the awareness campaign will extend to all ten wards within Ido Local Government. It will begin in Ward 10 at Ido Market and will progress through various areas, including Akufo in Ward 2, Apete, Ologuneru in Ward 4, Alafara, Iletitun Alaja in Ward 7, Omi Market Iso Agbe, and finally, Bakatari in Omi Apata, Ward 9.

By actively engaging residents and stakeholders, Ido Local Government aims to cultivate a sense of community ownership and responsibility towards flood prevention initiatives. This program reinforces the government’s dedication to promoting a safer and more sustainable environment for all its residents.
