
The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Ogun State, Lanre Oyegbola on Tuesday, commissioned a state-of-the-art Skills and Enterprise Development Center, aimed at empowering 200 youths with practical skills and entrepreneurial training.
Speaking during the official flag-off ceremony held at the local government secretariat, the Chairman described the initiative as a new dawn for the community and a strategic investment in human capital development.
He urged participants to embrace hard work, innovation, and passion as keys to personal and community transformation.
According to him, the Skills and Enterprise Development Center is designed to serve as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, providing access to tools, training, and mentorship across various vocational and digital disciplines.
He said “This center represents a beacon of hope and a catalyst for growth. It will equip our youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s fast-paced economy.
“Today, we gather to celebrate a new beginning—a new opportunity for our community to rise above challenges and achieve greatness.
The Chairman called on the beneficiaries, especially young people, to seize the opportunity and make the most of the training.
He also assured the community of the council’s continued commitment to developmental programmes that uplift lives and build a stronger Abeokuta North.
The event was attended by community leaders, representatives of various youth groups, local government officials, and trainers who will facilitate the programme.
