The Ogun Police have taken decisive action by arresting two military personnel along with twenty others for their involvement in cultism, underscoring a robust commitment to tackling crime in the region.
In a press statement issued to Gistlife TV, the police declared, “Acting on highly credible intelligence, a coordinated team comprised of operatives from the Odeda Division, Aregbe Division, the Anti-Cultism Unit, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, under the leadership of SP Adejoh Israel, strategically approached the location to dismantle gatherings of the Aiye confraternity.”
During this operation, law enforcement apprehended a total of twenty-two suspects, including two active military personnel, a clear indication of the persistent issues of cult activities in the area. Furthermore, police recovered critical evidence from the scene, including a dangerous cut-to-size locally made firearm, a UTC axe, and multiple blue beret caps typically linked to cult members.
Following their arrest, the suspects were swiftly transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Anti-Cultism Unit, located in Eleweran, where they will undergo thorough interrogation and investigation.
