Murder Suspect Arrested While Attempting to Sell Stolen Vehicle

The Ogun State Police Command has taken a significant step forward by arresting Ayomide Oluwadamilare, the suspect in the tragic murder of Mr. Kola Adun, whose body was discovered in his home in River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger.

On July 7, 2025, the police responded swiftly to a distress call about an unusual odor coming from a residence on Ogunmoyero Street. Upon gaining access to the premises, they found Mr. Adun’s body on the first floor, with visible stab wounds and bloodstains present. Additionally, Mr. Adun’s Toyota Camry was reported missing.

The concern was first raised on July 6 by a friend of Mr. Adun, who noticed the locked gate and could not reach him by phone. This prompt action led the friend to alert Mr. Adun’s family and subsequently report the matter to the police.

Through careful investigation, detectives identified Oluwadamilare, Mr. Adun’s former driver, as the individual who unlawfully entered the home on July 5 with the intent to rob, which ultimately resulted in the tragic murder and theft of the vehicle.

A notable breakthrough occurred when Oluwadamilare attempted to sell the stolen car to a dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, noticing discrepancies, took the responsible step of contacting the police, which led to the timely arrest of the suspect.

Mr. Adun’s remains have been transported to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) for an autopsy. The case will now be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), where a thorough investigation and prosecution will take place. This process underscores the commitment to justice and community safety.
