Afrobeats singer Emmanuel Adewale, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed his intention to leave the country due to the current state of the nation and the hardship affecting many people.
The “Mayor of Lagos” crooner shared his thoughts on social media on Monday, writing on his X account, “I dey reason to japa” (I am considering relocating).
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of Nigerian celebrities moving abroad. Notable figures who have relocated include Tacha, Eldee, Dr. Sid, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, Emeka Ike, and many others over the past decade.
Last year, veteran singer Banky W announced that he had moved to the United States with his family for educational purposes.
