…as Ile Alfa Royal Family Holds 4th Ramadan Lecture

The Chief Imam of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan , Alhaji Lawal Muhaminu Olaoye has urged Muslims to prepare for trial periods, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and faith during challenging times.

The Chief Imam disclosed this on Sunday at the fourth Annual Ramadan Lecture of Ile Alfa Sons and Daughters of Aliwo Royal Family, with the theme”Why do God-fearing people suffer while evil- doers enjoy” held at the frontage of Aliwo Palace, Agodi, Ibadan.

He explained that in Islam, trials and tribulations are seen as opportunities for spiritual growth and closeness to Allah.

He said that the Quran emphasizes the importance of patience and perseverance during difficult times, promising rewards for those who remain steadfast in their faith.

The cleric explained that there are four categories of people in life, some will have enjoyment of life while loose hereafter; some will be denied the enjoyment of this life and lose hereafter; Some will enjoy the benefits of this life and have hereafter;while some will lose this life and also lose hereafter.

According to him, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations”

“This Hadith highlights the idea that the life of a believer is filled with challenges and hardships, which serve as a test of their faith and patience.
“On the other hand, non-believers may seem to be living a life of ease and luxury, but this is only a temporary illusion.

“In another Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have said that the most affluent people in this world will be dipped in the Fire (of Hell), while the most destitute people in this world, who are believers, will be dipped in Paradise.

“Those Hadiths emphasized the importance of perseverance and faith in the face of adversity, and served as a reminder that the true rewards and punishments lie in the Hereafter, not in this temporary life.

“By preparing for trial periods, Muslims can navigate life’s challenges with confidence and faith, ultimately strengthening their relationship with Allah.
In his remarks, the first Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland,Chief Saheed Oladele commended the Sons and Daughters of Ile-Alfa Royal Family for organizing the annual Ramadan Lecture.
He said it is mandatory for him to attend any progrmme being organized by Aliwo Royal Family because, it was late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Senator) Mohood Olalekan Balogun, Allí-Okunmade II,that installed him as the first Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee, Dr. Rasheed Fasasi, in his welcome address, hinted that the lecture was organized purposely to seek forgiveness for the deceased sons and daughters of Ile Alfa and to attract Allah’s mercy for those that are alive.

He explained that the programme fully funded by members of the family, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, will serve as flowing charity for their deceased parents and members.
