Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State was agog on Tuesday as people of timber and caliber, medical practitioners, Traditional leaders,Crème de la crème in the Civil/Public Service showered encomium on the Director of Health Planning, Research and Statistics of Oyo State, Ministry of Health, Dr.Abass Gbolahan, who bowed out of service of the Oyo State Civil Service after his meritorious service to the state, as he marks 60 years on earth.
Appreciating God’s grace on Dr. Abass’s life, the Head of Service, congratulated the retiree, saying that not everyone who started the race ended it well.
Speaking further at the 60th Birthday and Retirement Celebration of Dr. Abass Gbolahan , held at the Nest Hotel and Suites, Along Total Garden, Ibadan, described him as a very kind, dedicated and hardworking man, who epitomized humility and humbleness.
Others who spoke of Dr. Abass described him as a father, a loving husband with useful counsel, open-minded man with a good track record, humble and a good role model for those that are coming behind him.
Responding to the accolades, the retiree appreciated the Head of Service, Commissioners, Colleagues, staff for the honour.
He expressed his gratitude to God Almighty, Colleagues, friends, and all well-wishers for their support.
He prayed that those he left behind in the services would live to enjoy the fruit of their labour after their disengagement from service.
The peak of the programme was the cutting of cake and presentation of gifts to the celebrant.
